This privacy policy explains how HIVE International Short Film Days handles personal data when you visit this website. It applies to hivefilmdays.com.
1. Who is responsible
The controller within the meaning of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is glassceiling e.V., Schlesische Straße 28, 10997 Berlin, Germany, as the organiser of HIVE International Short Film Days. You can reach us at info@hivefilmdays.com. Our board and register details are listed in our Impressum.
2. What we collect
We only collect personal data that you send us yourself, for example when you write to us through the contact form or by email. We do not run user accounts, a newsletter, or analytics or advertising tools on this website.
3. Hosting and server log data
This website is hosted by Webflow, Inc. When you open a page, technical data such as your IP address, the date and time of access, the pages requested and information about your browser and device is processed by the hosting provider and its content delivery network in order to deliver the website and keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a functioning and secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Webflow may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the USA. Such transfers rely on safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
4. Contact form and email
If you contact us, we process the data you provide, usually your name, email address and message, to answer your request. The form is operated through Webflow, and we receive your message by email. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in answering enquiries (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR), or, if your request is about a contract or preparing one, Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. We delete your data once your request is dealt with, unless we have to keep it longer because of legal obligations.
5. Film submissions
Films are submitted through FilmFreeway, not through this website. When you submit a film there, FilmFreeway is responsible for the data you enter on its platform, and its own privacy policy applies. We receive the submission details you provide and use them to review and select films and to organise the festival (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We keep them for as long as needed for these purposes and for our legal obligations.
6. Cookies and similar technologies
We do not use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, tracking or advertising on this website. Only technically necessary technologies that are needed to display the website may be used, and these do not require consent under Section 25(2) TDDDG.
7. Links to other websites
Our website links to Instagram and Facebook (Meta), Eventbrite (tickets) and FilmFreeway (submissions). These are plain links. No content from these services is loaded on our pages, and no data is sent to them until you click a link. After that, you are on their website and their privacy policies apply.
8. Your rights
You have the right to access your data (Art. 15 GDPR), to have it corrected (Art. 16), deleted (Art. 17) or restricted (Art. 18), to receive it in a portable format (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To use any of these rights, write to info@hivefilmdays.com. You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. The authority responsible for us is the Berliner Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit (datenschutz-berlin.de).
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when our website or the law changes. The current version is always available on this page. Last updated: October 2026.
